ZORA MCDONALD - LEAD VOCALS & GUITAR
Zora wrote her first pop song on her Casio keyboard at the tender age of 10 when her favourite doggy died. She has been singing and songwriting ever since but thankfully her subject matter has improved dramatically! She has successfully blagged her way round London and Brighton as a professional musician and is thrilled to finally have a troop as brilliant as this to blag it with her now!
CHEZ HARPER-GRIMBLE - SAXAPHONES, MELODICA & BACKING VOX:
Chez originally joined the band playing soprano sax as a temporary replacement for Claire Forester, the Tatsmiths' first violinist. But she sounded so good that they couldn't let her go in the end! She is well known round Brighton for playing tenor sax in bands like Los Albertos and The Grand Majestic, welding stuff and general bad behaviour.
CHRISTINE COOPER - FIDDLE
Apart from ripping it up on the fiddle like nobody's business, Christine is happiest eating cake and drinking tea from a real china teapot. Hailing from Wales, her top notch fiddling has seen her reach the semi-final of the 2003 BBC Young Folk Award and she has won the inaugural Welsh Celtic Fiddle Competition not once but twice! When not playing with the Tatsmiths, she busks internationally and plays with the much respected Welsh group Fernhill and others.
JIM 'THE HOLE' GALLAGHER- ACOUSTIC BASS & MANDOLIN:
Jim is the original Tatsmith. The former Los Albertos and Chameleon bassist first offered to accompany Zora after seeing her peddling her musical wares at the Gladstone open mic back in 2008, where they still seem to spend a large amount of their time!. His talents include the ability to learn any instrument you ask him to, spewing out loads of useless film knowledge and falling over.........spectacularly!
DAVE LACEY - DRUMMIST:
Dave has been playing tins pots & dustbins for 15 years and plans to buy a drum kit if this band makes any money. Dave's other bands and projects include 'Tragic Roundabout, Flat Stanley and Swervy World'. Dont be surprised to catch him busking in his diver's suit on a hot summers day either!
